One Person Died in Tensions in the Southern Seaport Town Kismayu

Kismayu,(insidesomalia.org)- One person has passed away and another wounded in a battle between two militias right inside the coastal town of Baidoa.

The fighting between the militias took place around the Kismayu main hospital which stands in the mid of the town.

The battle came after Kismayu seaport security guards tried to dismantle a blockade in the entrance of the harbor erected by militias who come under no mans order.

Number of food convoys where stranded on the entrance of the town could have the access to reach the town due the hurdles by the militias.

These militias want to be given huge amount of extort money from these trucks.

Both heave duty trucks drivers and the public passengers drivers jointly welcomed this move of dismantling the barriers in some streets of the town and those on the entrance to the main seaport.

“I am now relived and much beter than earlier, simply because now I am not paying any sort of extort money to way layers” said Hassan Ali a mini bus driver.

Yesterday after the Friday prayers the town clerics argued the way layers to remove their so called (Isbaro) within 24 hours or would face the consequence.

An officer from Kismayu town told inside Somalia that very soon they want anti way layers campaigne to eliminate all illegal barriers in and outside the town.

In the past few days the number of unlawful roadblocks have beem increasing rapidly in Kismayu town the headquarters of Juba region.
